According to the Virginia State Veterinarian’s Office, 146,898 dogs and 129,636 cats were located in shelters across Virginia in 2005. And, 50,951 dogs and 68,745 cats were euthanized in Virginia in 2005.
Please don’t contribute to those numbers, get your pet fixed as soon as possible!
The Surry SPCA sponsors a state-of-the-art mobile vet clinic in our area on a monthly basis, which means:
- A licensed veterinarian performs surgeries and vaccinates animals on site
- The surgeries and vaccinations are available at a low cost to you
- Simply make an appointment, drop your pet off in the morning and pick him or her up in the afternoon
- The van is usually in the area the third Wednesday of each month
- The van alternates months between Sussex and Surry:
- Sussex - at the Wakefield ball field on Route 460
- Surry - at Historic Bacon’s Castle (465 Bacon’s Castle Trail)
